” Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.”
As I reflect upon a translation of one of my favorite biblical scriptures, it confirms as well as affirms the true essence of Love! Love is Love! Regardless of whatever shape or form it comes in. Love can be shared amongst a man and a woman, a man and a man, a woman and a woman and transgender couples.
Spring and Summer time is not only known for tourism and vacation season but wedding season as well. And weddings are the ultimate symbolic exhibition of love.
LGBT community specifically, a study by the Williams Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law reports that same-sex marriages have been a favorable boost to the economy. Gay and lesbian weddings are responsible for an estimated $813 million boost to state and local economies and $52 million in state and local sales tax revenue since the United States Supreme Court’s decision extending marriage equality nationwide in June 2015. According to the study entitled Estimating the Economic Impact of Marriages for Same-Sex Couples after Obergefell, approximately 96,000 same-sex couples have walked down the aisles of holy matrimony since the ruling, resulting in support of an estimated 97,000 jobs.
Love is definitely in the air this time of year! Embrace it!
